Sarah Vega, M.D.
Dr. Vega is a board-certified Pediatrician. She graduated from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She then went on to attend medical school at UTSW School of Medicine in Dallas, Texas, followed by a 3-year residency in Pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, California. Following this, she completed a 3-year fellowship in Child Abuse Pediatrics at UCSD, providing trauma-informed care to children affected by maltreatment. Prior to joining Perlman Pediatrics, Dr. Vega worked in various clinics in San Diego seeing children of all ages for primary and subspecialty care.
Dr. Vega is excited to join Perlman Pediatrics! She looks forward to working with the children and families cared for by this team. She enjoys seeing children of all ages and has a professional interest in adverse childhood events (ACEs) and strengthening the resilience of children and their families. Dr. Vega also speaks Spanish and is happy to provide support and guidance to Spanish-speaking families.
While she grew up in Texas, Dr. Vega quickly fell in love with the beauty of the west coast. Outside of working with us at Perlman Pediatrics, she enjoys outdoor activities, yoga, cooking, traveling and spending time with her loved ones (including her furry children, a black cat named Midnight and an Aussie named Mona).
